Have you ever dreamed of having a bottle of every single wine in the Langton’s Classification in your cellar? Well here’s your chance! In this year’s Classification auction starting Tuesday November 30th Langton’s is offering lot 4154 a vintage mixed lot of every bottle in Langton’s Classification of Australian Wine V. The set on offer comprises 50 Shiraz/blends, 40 Cabernet/blends, 10 Pinot Noirs and 15 white wines. This unprecedented collection represents the pinnacle of the Australian fine wine scene and highlights the diversity of styles that makes Australian wine so exciting. Best of all, the proceeds from the sale of this lot will go to Able Australia, a non-profit organisation that provides services to people living with multiple disabilities.
Able Australia was founded 40 years ago following an outbreak of rubella that resulted in many children being born with multiple disabilities. Formerly known as the Deafblind Association it was formally renamed Able Australia in 2006. The aim of Able Australia is to “create a community where people with multiple disabilities are seen, heard, respected, valued and connected.” The wide variety of services offered include: Able Living, Able Lifestyle Choices, Able Respite & Able Link.
Able Living provides long-term residential accommodation for people with multi-sensory disabilities. The focus on personalised, individual, top quality support within a residential setting means that each person is able to develop to their full potential and experience a quality of life that could be expected of any person in the wider community.
A wide range of recreational, educational and therapeutic activities including swimming, art, craft, cooking, music therapy, massage and physiotherapy is provided through their Able Lifestyle Choices program.
Tailored Respite Care is another important part of Able Australia’s services. Experienced respite workers can be provided throughout the year within a community based setting, or within a person’s home. This flexible service is designed to be supportive of the individual needs of both carers and the people requiring support.
A vital link to the wider community is provided by Ablelink through its e-communications centre equipped with specially adapted computers. These allow individuals to access the internet, emails, and online networks. Communication with friends, online shopping and access to local national or global information is all possible allowing people with multi-sensory disabilities to be linked in to the community around them and the world.
With the holidays fast approaching, and the spirit of giving in the air, this unique offering is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to acquire a complete set of all 123 bottles of Langton’s classified wine, while at the same time supporting the incredibly valuable work of Able Australia.
