Meet the Langton's Brokerage Team

Michael Chavez

Michael Chavez

Michael is passionate about introducing your palate to unfamiliar grape varieties and styles that will add an exciting new dimension to your wine experience (but he still has a thirst for the classics – think Burgundy and cool-climate Shiraz).

Phil Daffey

Phil Daffey

When Phil Daffey worked throughout the Americas and Europe, the wine passion took hold – his adventures introduced him to the breadth of styles the world has to offer. He wants to take you on a globe-spanning journey to build your cellar.

Madeleine Davis

Madeleine Davis

It was during her 13 years in hospitality that Madeleine Davis found a love for wine and whiskey. She’s a sucker for Chardonnay, Pinot, and Riesling. At the moment, Maddie is loving everything NZ (being half Kiwi, she’s a little biased).

Simon De-Pas

Simon De-Pas

Simon De-pas has been in the wine industry for almost 15 years! ‘I love most wine,’ he says, but if he had to play favourites, he’d pick Cabernet. His desert island drink? A cheeky 2005 Château La Conseillante from Pomerol.

Rebecca Deitch

Rebecca Deitch

With over four years at Langton’s winery direct, a WSET Level 3 certificate, and a love of the places, people and stories of wine, Rebecca is keen to share her knowledge and take you on an oenological journey. Buckle up!

Charles Dodgson

Charles Dodgson

Charles has been an avid collector of wine for many years. As a trained Mining Engineer his expertise was discovering rare jewels and precious stones. These days, he uses these skills to discover great wine 'gems' for his clients.

Joanna French

Joanna French

Joanna has been working in wine since 1992, and holds the top WSET certification. Ask what her favourite wine is and she’ll tell you that it depends on her mood. Today she’s feeling the 2007 Vérité Le Désir from California.

Simon Hurford

Simon Hurford

Simon Hurford’s love for wine started as a teenager in the Hunter Valley. He honed this passion in wine retailing. ‘Currently I’m loving getting back to my roots in the Hunter, and enjoying European wines–especially from Bordeaux and Italy,’ he says.

Rhys Jones

Rhys Jones

Favourite wine? Rhys Jones doesn’t discriminate, but if a gun was held to his head, he’d pick Chardonnay and Bordeaux with a bit of age. He’s worked in wine for nine years, with a particular interest in all things Italian.

Michael Kerr

Michael Kerr

Working in wine since 2006, Mike Kerr likes good wine from anywhere in the world (but has a special interest in Chablis). He nominates high end burgundies as wines he wants to get to know better.

Jim Lindsay

Jim Lindsay

Jim has been in wine his entire professional life. He has done vintages in Barossa, Margaret River, Waipara, Champagne and Rhône and has worked in all aspects of wine sales. Think of him as the consummate all rounder!

Jake Lindesay

Jake Lindesay

Jake has some solid advice for his clients – not to blacklist a grape variety. ‘Every winemaker does it differently,’ he says. ‘Treat yourself sometimes. In the end, all roads lead to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay!’ Music to our ears.

Theo Maglis

Theo Maglis

A Burgundy regular, our resident Greek-speaker isn’t married to the idea of Pinot alone. He chooses wine seasonally - cooler months demand a Yarra Valley Cab, warmer temperatures are for lighter Pinots.

Tim Mansour

Tim Mansour

‘There is a wine for every occasion’, says Tim, ‘and they are all my favourites!’ Tim holds the Advanced WSET Certificate and has two decades in hospitality behind him.

Adam McConnell

Adam McConnell

Adam has been working in wine since 2008 and holds the WSET Advanced Certificate. His desert island wines? Pinot Noirs from any Grand Cru from the Côte de Nuits - and who can blame him!

Derek Metzger

Derek Metzger

Derek has combined working in wine with a career as an actor and singer. He’s the world’s biggest fan of Henschke Mount Edelstone Shiraz and holds the highest WSET accreditation.

Neli Naumovski

Neli Naumovski

A former restaurateur, Neli loves all good wine, especially obscure Europeans. Neli is a graduate of the Sydney Wine Academy’s sommelier program and holds the WSET Advanced Certificate in wine.

Sam Olle

Sam Olle

Sam is a Pinot Noir and Chardonnay man, so it’s unsurprising that Burgundy is number one for him. He’s achieved the top tier WSET certification, and can’t wait to share all of his wine knowledge and excitement with you.

Eugene Ooi

Eugene Ooi

A qualified mechanical engineer, Eugene's passion for wine has drawn him to Langton’s where he can also use his linguistic skills in Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay. Right now, he’s loving the power and complexity of McLaren Vale.

Jacob Parker

Jacob Parker

Jacob is a bass guitarist with a level 3 certificate from WSET. He grew up in Tasmania, so it’s only natural that he appreciates cool-climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. But don't worry, his expertise will draw you to the Barossa if needed!

James Rainbow

James Rainbow

James’ desert island wine-list overflows with 2005 La Romanée, 1986 Mouton-Rothschild and 1990 Petrus. He’s worked in wine since 2008 and holds the Advanced Certificate from WSET. He’s also a keen competitive sailor.

Rob Scurry

Rob Scurry

Whatever the price-point, Rob is looking for value, and he often finds it in McLaren Vale, a favourite region. Rob is a graduate of the Sommelier Course at the Sydney Wine Academy (TAFE NSW).

Duncan Timmins

Duncan Timmins

With intensive, first-hand knowledge of Bordeaux and Champagne, Duncan’s modus operandi is to share his passion for wine, and his enthusiasm is absolutely infectious.

Ian Wight

Ian Wight

Ian has been working in and around wine for more than 30 years. He holds a Business Degree in Catering and Hotel Management as well the Wine & Spirit Education Trust’s Advanced Certificate.

Anthony Woolcott

Anthony Woolcott

Anthony boasts three whole decades in the wine industry. He holds WSET’s advanced certificate and is a graduate of the Negociants Working with Wine Program.

Dannika Wright

Dannika Wright

Dannika ‘Dee’ Wright has followed plenty of career paths, but the only one that’s stuck is WINE. She’s been in the industry for over seven years and holds her WSET Level 3 Award. You’ll also find her doing the odd stand-up comedy gig!
