<p><b>Josef Chromy</b></p>Czechoslovakian born Josef Chromy fled his war torn home to Tasmania, setting up the successful Blue Ribbon Meat products. After selling that venture, he went on to establish and re-invigorate wineries and vineyards in Northern Tasmania, including the prestigious sites of Heemskerk and Rochecombe and Tamar Valley Wines before setting up Josef Chromy Wines. The winery is found just South of Launceston in Relbia, Northern Tasmania producing high quality cool climate fruit from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc. Josef Chromy has three ranges; the everyday drinking fruit driven Pepik, Josef Chromy Reserve Range, highlighting individual site expression and Zdar featuring limited wines from outstanding sites in exceptional vintages.
