poggio al sole

Poggio al Sole is a Tuscan wine producer in the Chianti Classico appellation located between Sienna and Florence. The 18 ha of vineyards are located at 320-400m altitude and carefully managed to produce low yields. Plantings are predominantly Sangiovese with Merlot, Cabernets and Syrah. In 1990 the vineyard was acquired by the Swiss family Davazs who have a long family history of winemaking. Son Johannes now runs the operation including the new modern winery.
