<p><span>Ciacci Piccolomini is steeped in an aristocratic history dating from the 17th century, belied by the agrarian roots of the wines and their humble makers, a family of farmers to which the entire estate was bequeathed as recently as 1985. It was Countess Ciacci who gifted her propitiously situated 220-hectare estate, on the south-east hillside of Montalcino, to her beloved farm-hand, Giuseppe Bianchini.</span></p>
