The new Langton's has arrived

Welcome to the new Langton’s. We are pleased to bring you a range of improvements and new services including:

A better way to bid
Enjoy an improved and simplified auction process that makes bidding on your favourite wines easier than ever.

Seeing is believing
Every lot is now photographed so you can see exactly what you’re bidding on.

A new way to buy
View and purchase from thousands of rigorously selected local and international wines from the best producers at our online store.

A Langton’s wine broker makes buying easy. If you’re short on time, or could do with some inside knowledge, a Langton’s broker has access to hundreds of cellar doors and can track down wine for you, access exclusive offers or bid at auction on your behalf. Find out more here.

Summary of key trading changes

My Account
To ensure your auction experience is as seamless and secure as possible, we now require a credit card to be saved in your customer account. This will enable you to bid at auction and ensures a streamlined and smooth process from auction close to delivery, and brings Langton’s into line with industry standard and best practice.

Where the total hammer price for lots won at an auction is $3000 or less, your designated credit card will be charged the amount owed, being the Total Purchase Price (specifically Hammer Price plus Buyer's Premium), immediately following close of the auction. If the total owed is more than $3000, you can make payment by direct deposit, Bpay or cheque. We will also soon be launching Paypal.

You are able to self-manage your account, and amend your own personal information and product and communication preferences. Sellers can manage banking details to receive payments.

Auction Services
We are wrapping our auction buying service fees into one charge under Buyer’s Premium. Buyer’s premium is 16.5% including GST. There is no longer any additional credit card surcharge.

Second-chance offer at the close of an auction. At the close of an auction if you are the highest bidder and within 10% of reserve, you will receive the opportunity to increase your bid to meet the reserve. This chance is only open for 30 minutes after auction close.

All wines under 15 years of age and listed for sale in our Buy Now services will be guaranteed by Langton’s.

Reserves
Vendor reserves are no longer accepted for wines valued under $19.
