James Halliday describes the 2014 growing season as “perfect.” One of the leading lights to come out of that great vintage was the Vasse Felix Tom Cullity 2014, which Erin Larkin also describe as “perfect.” So, this is the perfect opportunity to access our allocation of the 2014 Tom Cullity at a special weekend only price.
From perfect to epic, this week Langton’s hosted Sam Barry of Jim Barry for a pre-release of The Armagh 2014. On the night, Sam led our guests through an incredible evening of food, tales of Barry family lore and his wines: the Assyrtiko, The Florita Riesling and a selection of vintages of The Armagh from 2000 to the latest 2014. Sam also kindly allowed guests to access his museum wines to bolster their own collections.
This week we also released a very popular Cool Climate Shiraz Collection, celebrate a new high score for the Oakridge Willowlake Chardonnay 2016, we took a look at an accessible Mt Difficulty Pinot and showcased a selection of winter warming reds – all under $30.

Tom Cullity 2014
"Wow this takes Margaret River to another level. There is a purity of fruit and a vibrancy evident here. Power and elegance unlike anything seen before in the region. Oak and fruit with grainy tannins in perfect harmony creating an almost satiny mouth feel. Perfumed with notes of cedar and red berry and violet. A raw edge with graphite and seaweed complexity. The chalky tannins define the palate, which is focused and sustained."
99 points, Ray Jordan
The Armagh 2014
Langton’s Classified Exceptional
There are rarely more than 500 cases of The Armagh. In any one year at least half the Shiraz from the Armagh vineyard, contour-planted in 1965 by the late Jim Barry, simply doesn’t make the cut. The Armagh, first vintage 1985, has earned its status and is today one of Australia’s most sought-after wines.
We backed this Oakridge Chardonnay in March, and we’re very happy to back it again but now it’s sporting a new high score. "This wine has a vibrancy, an edge, giving it a mouthfeel and set of flavours firmly anchored on grapefruit… Great success for the vintage."
97 points, James Halliday
