Week in Review 25-08-18

The word of the week at Langton’s HQ has been ‘Classification’. Next Saturday, the seventh edition of our Classification will be released and the 136 wines and their positions will be revealed. Do not miss out on tickets to the events. And, as if that wasn’t enough, our 2015 Bordeaux wines are here.

Congratulations again to our en primeur buyers who secured their allocations two years ago. Some of the wines have already sold out in a very engaged market and no wonder – 2015 is a stunning vintage!

We also released the latest 2016 Turkey Flat Shiraz. Classified Excellent and sporting their highest ever Halliday rating of 98 points, this classic Australian comes from some of the oldest Shiraz vines in the world. All that at under $50 per bottle.

Château Cos d’Estournel

Château Cos d’Estournel 2me cru classe, St-Estéphe 2015
Very, very Cos. Harmony. Texturally marvellous.

"Super aromas of nutmeg, cloves and dried flowers with plums and blackberries. Subtle yet so complex. Full-bodied, tight and integrated with ultra-fine tannins and a beautiful finish. Lasts for minutes. Very, very Cos. Harmony. Texturally marvellous."
98 points, James Suckling

Sons of Eden Kennedy GSM 2016

Sons of Eden
Kennedy GSM 2016

"Grenache introduces raspberry and redcurrant flavours to meaty blackberry, plum and sweet spice. It feels a bit sophisticated, a lot textural, and has the pitch of weight, tannin and acid exactly right. This is an exquisitely crafted red wine. Indeed the word intricate is apt. The Sons of Eden range is in remarkable shape."

94 Points, Campbell Mattinson

Our WIN an Exceptional Cellar Competition has been won!
Congratulations To Manny P. NSW
After drawing this competition, our gorgeous Wine Broker Sam Olle had the pleasure of calling his client Manny to let him know the good news. When asked about what Classified wine he thought could have won the prize for him, Manny said it was probably a Mount Mary Quintet. Sam asked him why Quintet, and he replied: “Life's too short to drink bad wine." Wise words, Manny. Wise words. Again, congratulations!.

That’s it for this week. Next week the countdown begins. If you want to stay informed about the latest releases or get yourself on a Classification event waiting, talk to your broker. If you don’t have a Wine Broker, arrange a call today to find out more about our service, it’s free!
