Week in Review 14-07-18

This week we also released two new vintages from Chris Ringland — the 2013 Dimchurch and the 2009 Hoffmann. We released a selection of mixed cases including a Tasmanian Pinot mix, an interstate Riesling mix and a value McLaren Vale Shiraz mix. We also released a 2004 museum collection and, when that sold out, we released a small number of 2005 museum cases. The aged wine love didn't end there, as we also took a look at the Classified 'Outstanding' 2001 1860 Vines Shiraz from Tahbilk. Seventeen years of bottle-age, and with plenty of time to develop, this right on point to drink now. More

Week in Review 07-07-18

The Limestone Ridge Shiraz Cabernet from Lindeman’s is always a received very warmly at Langton’s. If it’s classic Australians you like, the Wallace Shiraz Grenache 2014 from Glaetzer is available at price point you’ll love. The Journey Yarra Valley Pinot Noir 2016 garnered similar praise around quality and value. In the rarefied air, north of three figures, we added to our Brunello di Montalcino portfolio with the brilliant latest releases from Casanova di Neri. Made from fruit produced from vines coming up on a half-century, Lindeman’s St George Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 has secured a 97-point rating from James Halliday.  On Tuesday we took a look at the 2016 vintage of our best selling premium Pinot. Rockburn Pinot Noir, an accessible Pinot is definitively Central Otago from ex-Felton Road winemaker Malcolm Rees-Francis.  This week, we also got to taste the latest Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Classified Outstanding, and the brilliant 2018 vintage releases from Rieslingfreak. Week in Review 09-06-18

It was a week for France’s Grand Dames, as well as homegrown icons gaining aristocratic new world reputations this week. Representing the new world is Vasse Felix’s flagship Heytesbury Chardonnay. From new world to old, this week saw two exciting features in the form of a top-up allocation of a Premier Cru Burgundy – the Domaine Faiveley Mercurey Clos de Myglands 1er Cru Monopole 2015 going for an astonishing $55, and the 2000 Chateau Latour drinking beautifully at this very moment. All this in a week that also featured a sellout Langton’s winterwarmer Shiraz, a unique red from Etna, and more. More
