Kilikanoon’s Parable Shiraz showcases the regional expression of McLaren Vale typically showing mocha, coffee and brown spices alongside a core of ripe juicy red fruit with cedar and vanilin characters. The wine is vinified in a traditional manner; small parcels of fruit, are fermented on skins in open top vessels then basket pressed to a mixture of new and seasoned French oak casks for 22 months.
Made from two vineyards, 35 and 45 years old… This stunningly profound Shiraz should age effortlessly for 15-20 years (from 2006). 96 points, Robert Parker
Dense, impenetrable colour; archetypal McLaren Vale fruit profile with dark chocolate aromas and flavours leading the black fruits; full-bodied, and does carry the alcohol and oak. 93 points, James Halliday
Velvety and distinctly spicy, with cardamom and green olive flavours weaving through the dark berry fruit, mingling on the fine-grained finish. Harvey Steiman, Wine Spectator
