'From an outstanding vintage this 100% Syrah from their Gimblett Gravels vineyard is formidable and completely delicious, combining fruit power and stylish elegance. Aromas of Black Doris plum, mixed spice, cedar, black olive and floral on the nose. It is concentrated and dense, yet silky and flowing, offering impressive fruit richness and texture, leading to an extremely long finish. The wine is firmly structured by sturdy tannins, ensuring its gradual development.' 99 Points, 5 Stars, Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
'Deeply scented Syrah with plum, dark berry, chocolate, licorice, coffee, mocha, black pepper and subtle violet flavours. A vibrant, high energy wine....' 97 points, Bob Campbell, MW.
'Very dark, near impenetrable black-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has a very elegant stylishly reserved nose with beautifully harmonious and integrated aromas of ripe black berried fruits interwoven with black pepper, black plum and liquorice notes, along with Oriental spices and exotic oak. This is seamlessly melded together and quite complete in expression. Medium-full bodied, the palate exudes refinement, possessing a tight core of sweetly ripe black berried and plum fruits with liquorice and subtly integrated notes of black pepper and Asian spices. This has a very fine-grained and tightly concentrated core, and the wine flows seamlessly with satiny tannins and lacy, underlying acidity providing gentle tension and drive. As the wine flows, waves of violet florals and exotic spices emerge and are carried to a very long and sustained finish of fine, flowery textures and sweet black fruits and spices. This is a beautifully elegant, seamlessly refined, rich Syrah with a sweetly concentrated core and layers of fine spice and exotic detail.' 19+/20 points, Raymond Chan.
'Tight, intense, coiled Syrah. Pepper and woodsmoke to the gills and boasting an appropriate complement of concentrated black cherried fruit too. Nutty. Smoky. Bold, particularly in a regional context. A wide, dominating sweep of tannin. This is a wine with a 1000 mile stare; it has the long term on its mind. It’s not hard to be enamoured.' 95+ Points, Campbell Mattinson, Wine Front
'Deep colour. Inky, blackberry, liquorice. Plush and inky with beautiful richness of fruit, dark blackberry. praline, fine looseknit chalky tannins, roasted chestnut notes. Finishes firm with beautiful length of flavour. Generous and supple with lovely buoyancy and weight.' 95+ points, Andrew Caillard, MW
'Serious smelling red of intense, brooding dark fruit, clove-mahogany oak character, whiffs of dried herbs, a sense of mineral in crushed rock character. Formidable start. The wine sits medium weight yet deeply concentrated in flavour and texture – a rolling, sprawling red that touches all corners of the palate with polished fruit, oak and building granitic-mineral-like tannins. Firm, full red of great presence and touch of class.' 94 Points, Mike Bennie, Wine Front
