From the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it vineyard of Tomboy Hill comes The Tomboy Pinot Noir, a small batch red made in cooee distance from the site of the Eureka Stockade (you’ll notice the telltale star on the label).
Everything here starts off hands-on. Premium hand-picked fruit is manually sorted, before all hands are off and this gorgeous Pinot is left to do its thing au naturel. At once powerful, elegant, and balanced, this under-the-radar wine deserves its time in the spotlight.
Trophy Best Young Pinot Noir, Concours des Vins de Victoria '15. A long-standing and quixotic wine show, never advertised in advance (for entries) and always judged to come up with left field choices, whether intentionally or otherwise. This has very good mouthfeel and elegance, its Achilles heel the edge of green mint that lurks in the background.
