Pleasant earthy/cedary aromas; springs into life on the palate, supple and smooth, yet full of life, with perfect balance and length. This really is a breakthrough for Tahbilk. Drink to 2027. 96 points, James Halliday (winecompanion.com.au).
This is a beautiful eight-year-old wine. Plums, mulberries, good flesh but strict structure. Semi-developed but still very fresh. Nice tannin framework. Has a mintiness but it just lifts the wine. Good all over. Terrific release. 94+ points, Campbell Mattinson (winefront.com.au).

Bright colour; clearly superior grapes have been well-handled in the winery, giving the wine a level of sweet red and black fruits well above the norm; ripe tannins and high quality oak. Arguably the best Shiraz since 1962. 96 points, James Halliday.
Beautiful wine of an old-fashioned style, smooth and well balanced. Great drinkability. 95 points, Huon Hooke
Toffee, redcurrant, raspberries, lovely mint leaf throughout and a soft, ripe quality to the fruit. Jancis Robinson, MW
Elegant, proportioned central Victorian raspberry and plum with hints of eucalypt, forest floor and great richness of flavour and glorious fine tannins that build into a wine of great length. 96 points, Rob Geddes, MW
