HEEMSKERK
Heemskerk is situated in Tasmania, Australia’s most southerly and coolest grape growing region. The original Heemskerk vineyard was established in 1975 by Graham Wiltshire, Bill Fesq, a Sydney wine merchant and Colin Haselgrove from Reynella Wines, who collectively recognised the potential of this region. Heemskerk sources its Pinot Noir from a 25-year-old vineyard on the banks of the Derwent River in the Derwent Valley. Riesling is sourced from the Riversdale Vineyard, a northeast facing, 12-year-old vineyard on the banks of the Coal River and the 25-year-old East facing Tolpuddle Vineyard is ideal for Chardonnay. Dedicated to creating classic cool climate styles from highly expressive vineyard sites, Heemskerk is a premium Tasmanian producer worth watching.
