GraillotThe Graillot Australia project is a partnership between Northern Rhône legend Alain Graillot and Robert Walters from Bibendum. Together they own a 3.3ha plot in Heathcote (nicknamed Clos Graillot) an east-facing hillside site in the Mt Camel Ranges. The vineyard is an infertile rocky site typically yielding smaller bunches that ripen later. Graillot produce two wines, a savoury medium bodied Syrah and the No. 2 Syrah made in a plusher more approachable drink now style. Both wines come from their 3.3ha vineyard in Heathcote. All fruit is hand harvested and destemmed, with 25% whole berries included in the ferment. The wines sees no yeast additions, minimal sulphur employed, and is unfined and unfiltered.
