The Domaine of Dominque Mugneret can trace its beginnings back to 1935 when Marcel Mugneret created the domaine in his own name. Marcel was Dominique's grand-father and now it is Dominique who tends the premier cru vines. This wonderful Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir has lifted fragrant aromas of dark cherry and blackberry bush along with concentrated flavours and an acid backbone that supports a fine, savoury finish.
"The 2014 Vosne Romanée Alliance des Terroirs has a similar bouquet to the Hautes Côte de Nuits Rouge -- a little reserved and bashful, though I like the detail here, the precision that comes through with time. The 30% new oak is deftly integrated on the palate, adding body and density in the mouth, although the finish will need more time to fully absorb the wood. There is more sheen to this Vosne-Romanée than Dominique Mugneret's other 2014s; this deserves a couple of years after its bottling in December." Neal Martin
Renowned for producing some of the finest and most expensive wines in the world, it is one of the jewels in the Côte de Nuits’ crown and boasts the biggest concentration of top vineyards in the entire Côte d’Or with some of the world’s finest producers - not only with talent, but pioneers of innovation.
The wines are intense and powerful with finesse and elegance. Although Vosne-Romanée’s Grand Cru wines of La Tache, La Romanée and Richebourg are a wine aficionado’s household names (and dreams), the commune’s Premier Cru wines are magnificent and with a well deserved reputation.
