Winery DOMAINE MAUME

Domaine Maume is a small producer based in Gevrey Chambertin. The estate has a small holding of just under 5 hectares of mature old vines located close to the village of Gevrey Chambertin with the largest single plot being 0.67 ha of Grand-Cru Mazis-Chambertin. The estate was owned by five successive generations of the Maume family up until 2011 when it was purchased by Moray Tawse. Fifth generation Bertrand Maume still makes the wines together with his colleagues from Marchand-Tawse who now assist with vinification. The hand-harvested grapes are cooled prior to fermentation and undergo a long slow cuvaison with regular punching down and pump-overs. Maturation takes place in a range of oak barrels matched specifically to each cru for up to 22 months.
