Veneto is a hilly region in the north-east of Italy bordering the Adriatic coast and produces some of Italy’s most recognised wines. The region has a vineyard area of 76,600 ha of which almost half are of the DOC and DOCG status wines. Two major climatic influences have an impact on the region; the cooler mountains to the North generate a continental effect whilst the Adriatic in the south has a warm maritime influence. White wines dominate the region including Pinot Grigio and the Garganega dominant wines of the Soave sub-region. Red Valpolicella wines made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes, produce fragrant, dark fruit characters in a range of styles from dry, fresh, youthful wines to the intense, concentrated Amarone and sweet Recioto wines. Veneto is also home to fresh, lively Prosecco Sparkling wines produced from the Glera variety.
Established by Carlo Campagnola in 1886, Campagnola is a family wine producer in Italy’s Veneto region. Fifth generation Giuseppe Campagnola is now at the helm, dedicated to producing an array of great value, quality wines from traditional grapes found in the region. The family have 115 ha of vineyard holdings across Veneto and source additional grapes from approximately 50 growers. The extensive range encompasses a number of styles including Prosecco, Soave, Valpolicella, Amarone della Valpolicella and Recioto della Valpolicella all offering excellent value and displaying signature regional typicity.
