DOMAINE FRANCOIS CARILLON, Puligny-Montrachet
Domaine Francois Carillon is the legacy of the Carillon family that has been growing grapes in the Puligny-Montrachet region since the 16th century. Langton's has been dealing with Francois since he established his own label in 2010 and we're proud of how this relationship has grown.
His wines, reflecting his heritage and passion, rub shoulders with those Grand Cru and 1er Cru wine from Puligny-Montrachet and have garnered acclaim at the highest levels.
‘I cannot think of any Burgundian grower more energetic than François Carillon…’

From 8 lieux-dits covering 5ha, and mostly old vines. This is beautifully balanced, textbook stuff, carrying a certain amount of new oak but carrying it well. About 12% new wood is where he wants to be now, and mainly in 350 litre barrels. The finish is very classy, a lovely point of refreshing mineral acidity, while the fruit returns to close out the finish.
(89-92) points, Inside Burgundy (November 2019)
Puligny Blancs have a distinguished bouquet of almond paste, ferns, tropical fruit, amber, and white flowers. Their discreet acidity leaves room for a very soft mouthfeel and an impressive long finish.
