Brancaia TRE is a blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit is sourced from estates in three subregions: Castellina (Brancaia) and Radda (Poppi) both in Chianti Classico, and Maremma (Grosseto).
The TRE is typically a young drinking, fresh wine, full of character, given that it is raised in concrete tanks, seeing no oak. Structural Sangiovese dominates with a roundness provided by the Bordeaux influence from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Delicious!
"Made with 80% Sangiovese and smaller parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2015 Tre presents a ripe bouquet with cherry fruit and cassis. Those bright red berry flavors segue to light shadings of spice, leather and blue flower. The fruit feels soft and round in this sunny vintage. This is an easy wine in terms of mouthfeel with medium weight and a fresh finale."

"Lovely density and vibe to this 2015 red with cherry, strawberry and orange peel character. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh finish."

"The 2015 Tre, Brancaia's Sangiovese-based red, is bold, racy and super-expressive. A rush of black cherry, smoke, tobacco and licorice infuse this open-knit, inviting wine before Sangiovese aromatics appear on the finish to add lift. Drink it over the next few years."
