<p>Bruno Colin La Truffiere 1er Cru, Puligny-Montrachet</p> <p>While the soils are worked mechanically they are maintained using sustainable farming methods. The vines were planted in 1952 and 1987 and the Premier Cru Puligny-Montrachet plot is located near the very top of the hillside, just below Hameau de Blagny. The name ‘La Truffiere’ derives from the <em>Truffe de Bourgogne</em> or the Burgundian truffle. Prior to the vinous gold rush, the soils in this area suited the truffle. Truly blessed.</p> <p>The grapes are picked and selected by hand before vinification. This is followed by 12 months on oak about a quarter of which are new barrels and this prior to three to six months in vats to maintain freshness and verve.</p> <p>In the glass, you’ll find so much going on. Pure and precise, revealing pepperiness and oakiness over time. It’s full-bodied, smooth and rich on the palate showing great minerality and length.</p>
