Region Provence

Provence is a picturesque, sunny, southern region of France most famous for producing aromatic, elegant, dry rosé wines. The vineyards of the region cover an area of 28,500 ha and have a huge diversity in soils and topography. Provence experiences a warm to hot Mediterranean climate with rainfall predominantly in winter. There are nine AOC classifications for the region of which 75% of production is for rosé. Most wines produced in Provence are blends of the famous southern French varieties; Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan producing a range of wines that encompasses crisp, fresh dry rosés and light red wines through to more robust age-worthy styles.
