A full and generous wine with Intense savoury aromas of earth, leather and tobacco on the nose followed by charcoal and meaty sweet fruit on the palate with well integrated tannin.

Menthol, new leather, white pepper, fig and forest floor are just some of the aromas you'll find on this fantastic wine. Smooth and structured, the full-bodied palate evokes dried cherry, licorice, baking spice, raspberry compote and a salty mineral note. Firm polished tannins provide smooth seamless support. Drink through 2031.

Shows the generosity of the 2011 vintage with ripe fruit, mushroom and bark aromas and flavors. Full body, round and chewy.

'A regime of extended oak ageing (five-years) has ascribed this forceful Barolo with the coveted Riserva tier, while finding an effortless synergy with the darker fruit tones of the warm and imminently accessible 2011 vintage. Damson plum, dark cherry, coffee grind, truffle, dried tobacco, clove and Moroccan spice stride across the mouth before being directed to a firm, astringent finish by a cavalcade of assertive tannin.'

The winemaking philosophy is one of minimum intervention and maximum respect for the vineyard. No synthetic chemicals are used in the vineyards and the vine rows are planted with native grasses and legumes to keep the soil vital and reduce compaction.
Under Enrico’s leadership, Rivetto is going from strength to strength. The wine quality across the board is excellent and a No. 16 in the Wine Spectator Top 100 for the 2006 Barolo is testament to that.
From the vineyards surrounding the Loirano hill, Rivetto produces several crus of Barolo and Barbera d’Alba, along with Dolcetto and the exciting renascent native white, Nascetta. Rounding out the portfolio is a rare Barolo Chinato and a Grappa di Nebbiolo da Barolo.
