about this product
Scaia Garganega Chardonnay (it also has a dash of Trebbiano) is a zesty, tangy white blend made by Tenuta Sant’Antonio, one of Veneto’s leading producers. It is a byword for value and a beacon of modern, quality-conscious winemaking in the Veneto region.
The blend may be unfamiliar, but the wine has tremendous appeal. There’s a spectrum of fruit aroma and flavour from grapefruit and orange to apple and pear plus an unusual zippy freshness that makes the wine both inviting and intriguing.
The Scaia label makes a strong case for the widening of individual wine horizons. The four Castagnedi Brothers – Tiziano, Armando, Paolo and Massimo – have left the limited world of co-operative winemaking behind and built a progressive operation that is pointing the way to success for a new generation of Italian winemakers. Scaia also makes a classy package, the bottles sealed with a Vinolok glass stopper.
