Henschke Julius Riesling Eden Valley
Concentrated and intensity flavoured Eden Valley Riesling. Fermented in tank and bottled post-vintage to preserve the delicate aromatic fruit characters.
This region provides ideal ripening conditions for the riesling grape and has a unique track record of exceptional ageing potential for the variety. The Eden Valley riesling vineyard is planted on sandy loam over gravel and bedrock with patches of clay. The wine is named after an ancestor of the family Julius Henschke, a highly acclaimed artist and sculptor.
Elegant, fresh, crisp, fruit/acid balance spot on, the finish particularly good. Effectively this is a reserve selection.

Svelte riesling of limey freshness and floral perfume. Opens with frangipani and mixed citrus peel scents, flavours tend to the leaner, dry spectrum of lime flavours, texture is squeaky and lightly chalky. Refreshing, bright, brisk. Good drinking.

Light straw-yellow hue and a dried herb, dried-floral bouquet, the palate grapy, fruity and soft, with a tickle of sweetness and soft acidity, which renders the wine very approachable in youth. Accessible now, but maybe not for long keeping. The dried-flower aroma is classic Eden Valley.

A very attractive, floral, lemon and white stone-fruit riesling with a vibrant and succulent feel to the lightly chalky palate. There’s a lot of energy and brightness here. Very approachable now.
