2008 Voyager Cabernet Merlot Deep garnet; a complex array of aromas from cedar, cassis, cigar box and a touch of leafy interest; the palate is full bodied, fine and poised with polished tannins and fruit, working seamlessly together; the length of flavour is nothing short of staggering, and while a joy to drink as a young wine, patient cellaring will be well rewarded. 96 points, James Halliday, Wine Companion.
2011 Woodlands Alex Cabernet Sauvignon A 94/4/2% estate-grown blend of cabernet sauvignon, malbec and cabernet franc that spent 21 months in new French oak. Excellent colour; Margaret River blends don't come better than this, a wine that is strongly reminiscent of vintages 5 or more years ago that outscored First Growth Bordeauxs in blind tastings. In the manner of those Bordeaux wines, this will live for decades with its array of black fruits and firm tannins, and cries out for patience. . 97 points, James Halliday, Wine Companion.
2009 Flowstone Queen of the Earth Cabernet From a single dry-grown vineyard in Wilyabrup planted in the late '70s; hand-picked, open-fermented and macerated for 3 weeks thereafter; pressed to new French barriques and left there for 3 years; 85 dozen made. Stuart Pym regards this vintage as an all-time classic, and this wine supports that view, the fruit so intense it has absorbed the oak without demur; there is a juicy quality to the fruit that gives the impression of sweetness - which is not. Pure magic. 97 points, James Halliday, Wine Companion.
2011 Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon Moss Wood at its best, everything in its right place, perfectly balanced, and speaking of the vineyard, the vintage, the variety and the winemaker with equal conviction. Full purple-crimson; supple blackcurrant fruit is cosseted by superfine, but persistent, tannins and high quality French oak. 97 points, James Halliday, Wine Companion.
2012 West Cape Howe Book Ends Cabernet Sauvignon Made from the best and oldest blocks on the estate Langton Vineyard; matured for 18 months in French oak. It has a gloriously fragrant bouquet and a wonderfully pure expression of cool climate cabernet sauvignon on the long, medium-bodied palate; the oak and tannins lend support, but not intrusively so. 96 points, James Halliday, Wine Companion.
