Rivetto Langhe Nebbiolo , Piedmont
*** NOW ALL UNDER SCREW CAP ***
The Rivetto family wine business began in 1902 and is now in the hands of fourth generation Enrico Rivetto, whose winemaking philosophy is one of minimum intervention and maximum respect for the vineyard. No synthetic chemicals are used in the vineyards and the vine rows are planted with native grasses and legumes.
Situated between the villages of Serralunga and Sinio, under Enrico’s leadership, Rivetto has gone from strength to strength, producing elegant, supple and very drinkable examples of the best Piedmont has to offer.
As with so many Langhe Nebbiolo in 2015, plenty of flavour delivered for the price. Now under screwcap... A darker fruit profile, spice and new leather, succulent and ripe with pleasant gently sandy tannin, spice, undergrowth and black tea, but mainly about ripe fruit with enough structure to support, but not overwhelm the pleasure of enjoying it as a young wine. Nebbiolo 101. Tick. Drink to 2023+

The winemaking philosophy is one of minimum intervention and maximum respect for the vineyard. No synthetic chemicals are used in the vineyards and the vine rows are planted with native grasses and legumes to keep the soil vital and reduce compaction.
Under Enrico’s leadership, Rivetto is going from strength to strength. The wine quality across the board is excellent and a No. 16 in the Wine Spectator Top 100 for the 2006 Barolo is testament to that.
From the vineyards surrounding the Loirano hill, Rivetto produces several crus of Barolo and Barbera d’Alba, along with Dolcetto and the exciting renascent native white, Nascetta. Rounding out the portfolio is a rare Barolo Chinato and a Grappa di Nebbiolo da Barolo.
