Matured in sherry casks to imbue soft, sweet fruitfulness, this is a truly limited and uniquely flavoured single malt. An aroma of bitter coffee greets the nose, intermingled with nuttiness. On the palate, you will find white floral and fresh, crisp fruit, a delightful accompaniment to the earthy characteristics on the nose. Finishes long and with immense warmth.
The second distillery of Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru—Miyagikyo—is located in Japan’s Sendai region. Established in 1969, it is a mountainous area. It’s malts tend to be lighter than that of many of Nikka’s other distilleries.
