Col McBryde and Jennie Gardner founded Adelina in 2002. Their wines are both meticulously crafted and beautifully presented. The Adelina vineyards are in Spring Farm Valley, just south of the Clare township, where their neighbours include Wendouree, Aberfeldy and Sevenhill Cellars. The small Adelina estate plantings, some going back to 1910, are mostly Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro.
"In a very short space of time Adelina has become one of my favourite producers in the Clare Valley, and indeed, South Australia."
Gary Walsh, Wine Front (2016)
Grapes also come from growers other parts of the Clare Valley and in the Adelaide Hills. The Polish Hill River Riesling comes from a vineyard planted in 2000, north-south at 460m, on grey-brown loam over shale, sand and limestone. The fruit is hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed and settled, then fermented to complete dryness and stored in stainless tanks prior to clarification and bottling.
