50% lost but the better parcels survived. Three x 350-litre barrels (one new)... Creamy and a touch of orange pith on the nose. Rich and quite open on the nose, then more spice and salinity/minerality on the palate. More volume in the mouth than in Les Ancegnières, more power and drive but still pulls in to a long finish with just a gentle creaminess to the texture to clothe the arrow-like freshness. Has both intensity and elegance. Amazing length with beauty and freshness. Drink 2020-2030. 17.5/20 points, jancisrobinson.com (1/2018).
The whites are full-bodied, powerful, and fat, with aromas of almonds (green or toasted, depending on the age of the wine), ripe apples, white flowers, and honey, The finish is remarkably long.
The reds are deeply colored, full-bodied, and often quite fleshy, with classic aroma of cherry or kirsch and blackcurrant. Their firm structure is reminiscent of a wine from the Côte de Nuits.
