Made from 30 year old MV6 vines on a north facing block, this is fermented with up to 25% whole bunches before being matured in 75% new French, 300 litre hogsheads. The result is a wine with red and black fruits, terrific perfume and lift all wrapped in a medium bodied framework and wine with enough fine grained tannins to ensure a long life in the cellar.
MV6 planted '88 on the north-facing slopes of the property. Made using carbonic infusion techniques with 25% whole bunches on top of destemmed fruit, matured in French oak (75% new) for 9 months. The bouquet is so intense there's little need to swirl the glass as the high-toned fusion of spiced fruits and cedary oak fill the senses. The palate has a unique taste profile with the flavours meeting the tip of the tongue then following through to the finish. Made by Robin Brockett.

This has some freshness to it. Minerally, saline pinot noir of light, red cherry fruitiness, faint herbal notes, tart acidity, the whole wine almost feels like lemon juice meets pomegranate juice. It is very clean and lithe, gossamer in texture, very long, so very fine. A very different, lean and fine take on pinot noir that’s almost blink and you’ll miss it status. I really like this but you’ll have to brace yourself.

Victoria’s first commercial wine was produced in Geelong by Swiss immigrants in 1845. During the mid- 1800’s Geelong was the largest grape-growing region in Victoria with 400 hectares under vine. When phylloxera struck in the 1870s however, the vines were decimated and it was not until the late 1960’s that the area’s vineyards were re-established. Located about 80 km southwest of Melbourne, Geelong has a cool maritime climate with low rainfall and prevalent cool blustery winds that affect flowering and Franceuit set. Soils are diverse, mostly volcanic over limestone with some lesser quality black soils. The region is dotted primarily with family owned wineries producing small quantities of high quality Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz & Cabernet Sauvignon.
