Production at the Port Ellen distillery ceased in 1983, making this 1983 example an historic single malt—its origin the final year of the distillery’s operations. Matured in refill European oak butts, it was made in a limited edition of 2,964 bottles. An absolute collector’s item.
Named for the small town it is located in on the isle of Islay, Scotland, Port Ellen Distillery was founded in 1825. In 2017, it was announced that the Distillery will resume production in 2020.
