The Dr. Edge Pinot Blend comes from Tamar Valley, East Coast, and Derwent Valley fruit. It is fermented naturally and spends two weeks on skins, before maturation in old oak casks.
This is a bright, light, elegant Pinot made with minimal intervention. It is pleasantly spiced and aromatic, with juicy berry notes and refreshing minerality.
Just the one pinot this vintage, but a very good offering. A whorl of dark fruit infused with cloves, smoky and reductive with salami and prosciutto flavours. Savoury in attitude yet whole-bunch appeal comes through - ripe rhubarb-like stems. Buoyant, textural raw silk-like tannins and neat acidity to close. It renders this mouthwatering as well as satisfying.

It’s light and lucid, a bright cherry sweetness layered with spice and a bit of wetsuit style reduction, and a little fresh mint and rosy perfume. Tannin is light and fine-grained, just tugging away gently through the palate, a coolness of acidity, almost an alpine freshness here, with some dried leaf and mulch layering in some complexity. Finish is more autumn leaf stuff, but pure of fruit underneath, ripe raspberries, and quite long. Oak is not a feature of the wine. It’s a very good thing to drink.

Give this some air and let it unfurl aromas of espresso, cloves, grilled meat and red to dark cherries. Super sappy and spicy, there’s some earth and spice inbuilt, too. The palate has some handy depth of spicy red and darker-cherry and blueberry flavors with a smoothly delivered and energetic finish.
