Envínate are part of the new breed of Spanish winemakers making waves internationally. It’s not just hype, either. These are exciting expressions breathing fresh energy into old and unusual vines. Enter the Envínate T. Amarela Trincadeira.
It’s organic, of course (that’s just the Envínate way), and it comes from 15-year-old vines grown in the D.O. of Ribera del Guadiana. The grapes are destemmed, then fermented with wild yeasts and, naturally, subject to foot-treading. The juice then spends eight months in used French oak. Hot days, cold nights, and Mediterranean breezes make for rich, ripe juiciness, and a just-right acidity for balance.
Cropped from a warm, dry and early harvest, the 2017 T. Amarela Parcela Valdemedel was picked in early August. It's quite dark colored and always has aromas of licorice and Mediterranean herbs. It's an approachable and pleasant wine that's round, juicy, straightforward and very easy to drink. They did a softer vinification, and it's certainly a lighter vintage for T. Amarela. Unfortunately, this will be the last vintage for this wine. Some 2,000 bottles produced.

A tangy and fresh red with sliced lemons and crushed raspberries throughout. Medium to full body. Tight tannins and a flavorful finish. Racy and focused. Minerally undertone.
