HOLM OAK Protégé Pinot Noir, Tasmania
The Protégé Pinot is a lighter style with fresh, lively fruit aromas and juicy acidity. The grapes are picked at moderate sugar levels when the fruit is displaying fresh strawberry and cherry characters. The fruit is then de-stemmed and fermented on skins for 10 days. Specific yeasts are used to enhance fruit aromatics.
After fermentation the wine matures in tank prior to bottling. Lifted strawberry and spice characters on the nose carry through on to the palate which has fine, soft tannins, bright fruit and juicy acidity. This is an attractive Tasmanian Pinot Noir which is perfect for drinking as a young wine, and on any occasion.
New wine to the Holm Oak range. Its pitch is perfect. It's all strawberried and spicy with a fraction of creaminess to the texture and positive reduction notes for complexity. The offering is both juicy and varied. Tannin is tailored to suit and the finish in general does not disappoint. Excellent buying/drinking option.
