"Perfumed and so brilliant with dark berries, roses and other flowers. Love it. Full body and ultra-polished tannins with superb length and beauty."

"The 2015 Barolo R.G. is a blend of fruit from Rocche dell'Annunziata and Giachini. There is plenty of intensity in the glass, but the wine feels dense and overly heavy, especially within the context of La Morra Barolos. It will be interesting to see where things go in this newly-born estate as Carlo Revello."

"This small estate in La Morra is going through various changes, one of which is the recent creation of a bottling that blends grapes from the Giachini and Rocche vineyards. Like many other La Morra properties, Revello has taken a modernist approach, but this wine is aged traditionally. The nose is perfumed, with rose and raspberry aromas of great elegance. The attack is nimble and poised, and the palate shows concentration but no heaviness. The tannins are ripe and fine acidity gives finesse and length."

Carlo Revello is a second-generation Langhe winemaker working alongside his eldest son Erik. Since 2016, they have made wine under the Carlo Revello e Figli label. These are an impressive introduction to the legendary wines of Barolo, crafted with little artifice and showcasing La Morra terroir with all the grace and elegance so prized in wines from this pocket of the DOCG. Two established familial crus (including the ‘crown jewel’ Rocche dell’Annunziata cru) are now part of their estate. This is a range that sees heritage and tradition meet fresh ideas and approachability.
