“Wirra Wirra” is an aboriginal name meaning “amongst the gum trees”. In 1969 Greg and Roger Trott purchased the old ruins of the Wirra Wirra winery and lovingly rebuilt it to its former glory. The McLaren Vale vineyards are located on gravely loam over ironstone and deep alluvial river flats. Wirra Wirra produces a large number of wines across several ranges including flagship wines RSW Shiraz and Angelus. Fruit for the white wines made under the RGT collection is sourced from cool climate vineyards in the Adelaide Hills.
