Doniene Gorrondona is a picturesque winery among the verdant hills above the Bay of Biscay, in the town of Bakio. Under the stewardship of Itziar Insausti and Andoni Sarratea, it is known for having pioneered the reintroduction of the near-lost txakolina in the Bilbao region back in the 90s. Doniene Gorrondona are committed to popularising native varietals, and eschewing international offerings, producing wine that is Spanish terroir pure and true.
This wine is bracingly fresh, green and herbaceous on the palate with granny smith acidity and white fruit. Ideal for spring dining.
