What’s extra-special is the way the wine expresses its McLaren Vale origins at the same time as it displays quite extraordinary richness and depth.
It’s a wine made with skill, and care. It’s what you get when you take fully-ripe, hand-sorted Shiraz from a low-yielding vineyard, turn it into wine with plenty of colour and flavour but not too much tannin, then pull the whole thing together with 16 months in mostly three and four-year-old oak barrels. It’s also a gold-plated bargain.
