"Traditional method. 96% chardonnay, 4% pinot noir, 78% estate-grown, 22% from the upper slopes of Macedon. Trophy Victorian Wine Show '18. This had 3 years on yeast lees, and there's plenty to come with years on the cork."

"A large spray of fresh-cut red field and garden flowers fill the bouquet, the wine switching track on the palate."

"Typically sees some oak and spends time on lees, more to enhance texture than flavour. Always a reliable example of this Margaret River 'speciality'. Offers a nice balance of herbal, grassy characters with riper fruit notes on the bouquet. Good mouthfeel all through the palate, the flavours closely following the aromas, and just a suggestion of sweetness which might simply be the fruit expressing itself. Some vintages have seemed more zippy than this, but nobody will be disappointed."

"Excellent intensity of fruit. Gravel, thistle and tropical fruit flavours burst impressively through the palate. There’s a textural element too; there’s a note of fennel on the finish. It’s a very good example of this classic Margaret River blend."
92 points, The Wine Front (December 2018)
"Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro sourced from some of the 150yo vines on the estate. The price is extremely low for a wine with such history. Red, blue and black berry fruits are woven together by a gently savoury film of tannins and subtle oak justifying the choice to drink it now or much later."
95 points, James Halliday, Wine Companion, September 2018
"Beautifully balanced red wine. Made for drinking. Leather, port wine jelly, star anise, cream-coffee and sweet spices. It flows, it charms, it satisfies. A lovely drink, full stop, and a snip at the price."

Trophy, Top Gold and 96 points (Class 23)
Victorian Wine Show 2018
"Bright, youthful and beautifully lifted, the bouquet shows raspberry, apple, spice and grapefruit aromas, followed by an elegantly weighted palate that is lively and refreshing. Delightfully appealing and pleasingly dry on the finish."
