Kellermeister’s The Wombat General Hand Picked Riesling is cheekily named for brothers Michael and Graeme Fechner, sixth generation Eden Valley growers who have earned the title of ‘Wombat’ due to their predilection for digging holes (out in the vineyard, of course).
This is a wine, whole-bunch pressed, that captures with purity and intensity all the best bits of Eden Valley Riesling. A spritely line of acidity, bright lemon and lime juice, pure springtime joy.
Sourced from the best riesling block on the Fechner Vineyard, whole-bunch pressed, free-run juice of only 450l/t. Takes the mouth captive, intense lime/lemon fruit building inexorably from the start to the finish, bright acidity adding to the drive and purity of the finish.
