"Seductively accessible pinot noir with succulent cherry, violet, mixed spice and subtle oak flavours flattered by a seamless, silken texture. A stylish wine that has clearly been made with a light touch. Very lengthy palate."
96 Points, The Real Review (Jan 2020)
"Don't baulk at the light colour, it's healthy. The bouquet is perfumed, and the palate has plenty of complexity and varietal expression, a whole bunch component in the ferment providing savoury/foresty notes, but not obliterating the cherry and pomegranate fruit flavours."

"Riposte’s The Sabre Pinot Noir almost classifies as an anticipated release. Light in colour but stern with spice and tannin. Structured and accessible at once. Good release, no doubting it. Smoked cherries, graphite, woodsmoke and peppers. Juicy but serious. Recommended."

"From a storied cru in NSG, which abuts Malconsorts in Vosne Romanée.
Cherry, damp earth, plenty of spice and oak. It’s medium bodied, but rugged and powerful, with firm acidity, a fair amount of drying tannin, and a tangy finish of good length, but drying almost woody tannin. There’s a lot I like about it, but it feels just a little too clunky at present. Still, time may be kind."
