Leconfield and Byron & Harold respectively represent the two classic Cabernet regions of Coonawarra and Margaret River. Forest Hill illustrates the depth of fruit people love from Mount Marker while Tumblong Hills brings single-vineyard elegance and complexity into the mix from Gundagai.
In this Cabernet dozen, you’ll receive three bottles each of the following: Byron & Harold Gravity Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River 2018 Leconfield Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra 2016 Tumblong Hills Single Vineyard J-block Cuvee Cabernet Sauvignon, Gundagai 2015 Forest Hill Vineyard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Mount Barker Great Southern 2018
Machine-harvested, crushed and destemmed, 10-33 days on skins, matured for 18 months in French oak (29% new). A very well made cabernet, supple and medium-bodied. The fruit and oak are as one, albeit the blackcurrant fruit will emerge on top if there's ever a fight. As it is, sheer pleasure.

Excellent retention of purple-crimson hue; a very smart wine for this little-known GI, its best wines make you pull up short. This wine's texture, structure and cassis-accented varietal character are all excellent.

Hand-picked in several passes, open-fermented, matured for 15 months in French barriques (25% new). Part of a close-knit family of wines from Blocks 5, 6 and 7, the vinification very similar. Here the tannins are still a little restive.

Gorgeous aromatics of dark, ripe cherries plus a hint of cassis. The palate is vibrant and supple with an elegant structure and juicy red fruits. Great flavour and excellent length.

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon shows hints of redder fruit in its aromas of cherries and cassis. Accented by subtle pencil shaving notes, it's a medium to full-bodied wine, with classic Coonawarra Cabernet structure. Intense, pure and flavorful, it offers hints of mint, a mix of red and black fruit and a long, silky but firm finish.
