Semillon’s character is dependent on the region in which it’s grown and the winemaking techniques used. Hailing from Western France it is generally always blended (usually with Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadel). Hunter Valley Semillon, with it’s unique minerality, is fresh and lean when young, transforming into a deeply complex wine with age. It is distinctly different to the oak aged style of South Australia.
