Situated near the hamlet of Greenock, Laughing Jack is a small family owned winery run by the Kalleske family. The winery gets its name from the ‘laughing jacks’ – the Kookaburras that reside in the gum trees surrounding the vineyard. The first vintage was produced in 1999 from 5.4 tonnes of old vine Shiraz, made by Shawn Kalleske in an old tool shed on the property. Today Laughing Jack produces several f wines from estate vineyards including the Jack’s, Moppa & Greenock ranges alongside some limited edited dessert and fortified wines.

taittinger

Taittinger is a family owned Champagne house founded in 1734 and based in Reims. The Taittinger family operated the house during the wars in Europe until 2005 when it was sold in by the Taittinger family to the U.S. hotel group Starwood. This was not a positive move for the house and after just one year the Crédit Agricole, in collaboration with Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger, bought the business back to family control. Today Taittinger has a vineyard area of 290 ha. Once again in family hands it continues to build upon its reputation for producing fine Champagne n most notably with its two most famous Champagnes the prestige cuvée Comtes de Champagne (Blanc de Blancs) and Comtes de Champagne Rosé

<p><span>Handpicked Wines is a multi-regional operation focused on crafting superlative wines from Australia&rsquo;s most propitiously situated regions and vineyards. To facilitate this, a flagship vineyard and winery have been established on the Mornington Peninsula, with satellite vineyards in the Yarra Valley, Tasmania and Barossa Valley.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span>While each region offers different shades, articulated as meticulously crafted wines hewn of those cultivars best suited to the respective climate and geologies, five of Handpicked's vineyards focus on top-drawer pinot noir and chardonnay. These consist of two in Tasmania's Tamar Valley, Capella Vineyard in the Mornington Peninsula and two in the Yarra Valley, including Wombat Creek in the Upper Yarra, a Grand Cru equivalent boasting the highest elevation of any regional site.</span></p>

chateau lafleur

Château Lafleur is a tiny 4.5-hectare Pomerol property located opposite Pétrus and producing wines of comparable quality. It is owned and run by Sylvie and Jacques Guinadeau. While the majority of great Bordeaux châteaux have changed hands over the past several generations, Château Lafleur remains in the same family hands to this day. Its vineyards are situated on the gravel-rich Pomerol plateau and adjoin those of La Fleur-Pétrus. The soils here are particularly deep and are enriched by deposits of potassium and iron. Only natural fertilisers are used and yields are painfully low, even by Pomerol standards. Lafleur's wine is typically a blend of Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Franc (50%). It is aged in small oak barrels (50% new) for 18 months.
