Founded by Swiss vigneron Georg Fromm in 1992, Marlborough based Fromm winery has quietly established a reputation for crafting top quality single-vineyard wines. The winery is certified organic and also employs biodynamic viticultural methods with a winemaking philosophy that believes the winemaker 'guides the wine into the bottle'. Now under the helm of general manager William Hoare and winemaker Hätsch Kalberer, Fromm's wines have gone from strength to strength winning numerous awards and accolades both at home and abroad.

Established by former Bannockburn winemaker Gary Farr in 1994, the By Farr vineyards, located 100 km south west of Melbourne comprise 4.8ha of close planted vines on North East and East facing slopes of the Moorabool Valley. This sub-region of Geelong has its own unique micro-climate characterised by prevailing winds that profoundly influence the vine’s vigour. All fruit is estate grown and the multi-clonal vineyards are planted on ancient river deposits on a variety of soil types. Father Gary & son Nick Farr carry out the winemaking with low input viticulture and Burgundian winemaking technique central to the overall wines.

chateau batailley

<p><b>Chateau Batailley</b></p> Chateau Batailley is a 5th growth classified estate, located in the appellation of Pauillac on the left bank of Bordeaux. Owned by the Castéja family of négociants Borie-Manoux, it is one of the oldest estates in the Medoc. The name Batailley derives from the French word "bataille" (battle). It is thought that a battle did indeed take place in 1453 during the 100-years war, in the exact location of the property. Chateau Batailley has 55 hectares of vineyard holdings planted to 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. A solid, reliable Pauillac, Chateau Batailley is known for its classic, slightly austere style and structure. Improvements in viticultural practices over the last few years have seen the wine display a greater emphasis of fruit.
