Williams Selyem began in a garage in 1979 and has since become a cornerstone of Californian Pinot Noir. This Russian River Valley bottling is the estate’s signature, sourced from a collection of premier vineyards including the iconic Rochioli Riverblock. The region’s morning fog and cooling breezes allow for a long growing season, which is essential for developing the structural complexity and fruit purity that Australian collectors value in top-tier cool-climate reds.

Winemaker Jeff Mangahas employs traditional methods, including fermentation in repurposed dairy tanks, a nod to the winery's humble origins. The wine is aged in high-quality French oak, with a measured percentage of new barrels to ensure the wood complements rather than dominates the fruit. This focus on site-specific expression results in a wine that is consistently balanced and capable of cellaring for a decade or more.

The nose presents wild strawberry, dried hibiscus, and a trace of forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with bright acidity and fine-grained tannins. Expect flavours of red cherry and pomegranate, finishing with a savoury, tea-leaf note.
