BORGOGNO Barolo Liste Riserva , Barolo DOCG 2020 Bottle
About this wine
Borgogno Barolo Liste Riserva DOCG
Borgogno is the oldest established house in Barolo. The Liste vineyard sits on a south-facing slope at an altitude of 350 metres. This site features soils composed of clay, limestone, and marl. Such a composition provides Nebbiolo grapes with structural power and depth that define the estate style. The Riserva designation indicates that the wine has undergone extended ageing before its commercial release.
The winemaking remains steadfastly traditional. Fermentation occurs in concrete vats without temperature control, using indigenous yeasts. The wine then matures for six years in large Slavonian oak casks. This long period in neutral wood allows the tannins to integrate while preserving the fruit profile.
The nose delivers aromas of dried rose, leather, and red cherry. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and firm. Flavours of dark plum and liquorice lead into a structured finish with persistent mineral notes. This is a Barolo of serious intent and significant ageing potential.
