About this wine

Taylors Jaraman Shiraz, Clare-McLaren Vale

The wine has an intoxicating explosion of ripe black plum, blackberry and raspberry fruit, along with a hint of vanilla bean and clove spice.

This is a magnificently luscious, full-bodied wine with layers of flavour. Dazzling ripe fruit flavours of cherries and plum, along with confectionary red currant characters, combine artfully attractive oak characters of roasted coffee beans and spice. Overall, the wine is well-balanced with superb form and shape, the well-integrated oak tannins providing the palate with firm structure and a delicious, persistent finish.

The wine was matured in a selection of American oak hogsheads (a combination of new and older oak) for an average of 12 - 15 months before being bottled.

ABOUT THE WINERY
Taylors

Taylors was established in 1969, three generations ago when Bill Taylor senior and his sons found a site on the Wakefield River in the Clare Valley. The site was 178 hectares on famed terra rossa, red brown loam over limestone soil, perfect for Cabernet Sauvignon, combined with the Clare Valley climate of warm days and cool nights, creating precision and structure in their wines. Taylors are part of Australia’s First Families of Wine, twelve Australian winemaking families that represent the legacy that shaped the foundations of the Australian wine industry. Five different selections in their range, Promised Land, Eighty Acres (carbon emissions are offset), Taylors Estate, TWP (Taylors Winemakers Project), Jaraman, St Andrews, their benchmark wine. Most classic varieties are represented in the Taylors range, including the lesser-known varietals of Vermentino and Tempranillo, their reputation being quality driven wines representing all price points.
