About this wine
Gosset Grand Blanc de Blancs, Champagne
Gosset's Grand Blanc de Blancs is a pure expression of Chardonnay, drawn from the Côte des Blancs, the Montagne de Reims, and other cool, chalk-rich sites. Founded in 1584, Gosset remains Champagne's oldest house, with winemaking guided by a commitment to freshness and precision. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and undergoes no malolactic fermentation, preserving natural tension and clarity. It is aged for at least three years on lees before disgorgement and finished with a low dosage.
Each bottle shows the hallmark Gosset style: citrus, green apple and almond on the nose, with a palate of chalk, pear and pastry complexity. The fine bead and long, dry finish reflect both the quality of the fruit and the restraint in the cellar. It's a Champagne that pairs as well with oysters as with quiet contemplation, classic, confident and authentic to its house.

James Suckling
This has a complex nose of sourdough, parmesan, oyster shells, dried pineapples and lemons. It’s medium-bodied, sharp and structured on the palate, with fantastic phenolic tension and underlying chalky minerality. Tight mousse. 100% chardonnay from Cotes des Blancs. Based on 2018 harvest. Disgorged September 2022. 5.5g/L dosage. Drink or hold.

A hint of chalk appears even before subtle notes of autolysis become apparent. The slender palate comes with disarming freshness and poise, revealing edges of fresh lemon, subtle patisserie, more chalk and richer hints of lemon oil. Precise in character with a very fine mousse, and so long.
